After collaborating with actor Tom Cruise on the Mission Impossible film series, Cruise recommended to director Joseph Kosinski that Hamilton edit their film Top Gun: Maverick. For his work on the film, Hamilton was nominated for numerous year-end awards, including the Academy Award and BAFTA Award.
